Groundfire Collection

Groundfire is a collection rooted in the earth, built from warm, grounding tones that carry both stillness and strength. Each composition begins in quiet balance before gathering a denser, more charged presence across the surface.

For the first time, coffee is introduced as a material within the work. It is used not only for its rich, earthy colour, but also for the subtle texture created by its granules. Alongside Indian ink and the underlying textured surface, it adds depth, warmth, and a physical presence to each piece.

Coffee also carries a quiet symbolism within the collection. As a natural source of energy, it introduces a sense of contained momentum to the work. The result is a series that feels grounded and steady, where calm compositions hold a subtle internal charge.
